    Chocolate Rose Cupcakes

Here some  cupcakes iced with the same 2D Wiltons icing nozzle that I used to ice the pink rose cake. Using butter cream icing and starting from the centre pipe in a spiral circle to the outside. A very quick and easy way to make  impressive looking cupcakes. These cupcakes were made using a recipe called 'Danas chocolate cupcake's from one of my favourite cook book series "The Destitute Gourmet" The recipe can be found half way down the page on her blog here

    Adventure Time Topsy Turvey Cake

Miss 16 wanted a Topsy Turvey cake for her birthday. After Googling many how tos I came up with this. Originally I had the cake just decorated in the stripes and spots but it was lacking something. The second layer set too close to the edge made the cake look heavy so made some characters from her favourite TV cartoon Adventure Time.
Cake is a very rich chocolate cake. I didn't have tins small enough for the top two layers so for middle layer used a large tinned fruit tin and a large tuna tin for the top. I lined these tins with several layers of baking paper and they worked well.

The bottom and middle layer were halved and a chocolate butter cream was spread between. Cake was also covered in the butter cream prior to putting the fondant on.

As cake was made a week earlier it was frozen which also helped in the cutting of the shapes as less crumbs. The taste of the cake wasn't affected by freezing.

If making again I would make the middle cake smaller and not to the edge and roll fondant thinner.

    Mothers Day Cake.
As an avid follower of NZ Hottest home baker contest on TV I just had to enter a cake in their online cake photo contest. I didn't win but it was delicious to eat.
I used Alice's raspberry cupcake recipe found here. I Made it as a cake and also made it gluten free by substituting Bakels baking mix for the flour.
Iced with pink raspberry flavoured butter cream. It took alot of icing. After piping the roses, done with a Wiltons 2D nozzle I had to make a second batch of icing for the sides.

Sponged clouds using scalloped circle and using
Pocket Silhouettes have layered the image on top.

    Wedding card

Wanted to make a non floral wedding card for a friend. Used the cuttle bug to emboss background and hearts and the slice to cut out the heart shapes. After adding ribbon decided that there wasn't room for a sentiment but the card says wedding with out it.

    Colour Challenge

This fun colour challenge was to use the colour orange. I used my new SU set Every moment which was watercolour painted. The time limit on the challenge made your fingers fly to get it made in time.

    Cat ATC Cards

These are my contribution to an ATC swap I did recently. Had to make 5 cards with a cat theme.
Had no preset idea of design when I started but they just developed as I used materials at hand. Pictures from back of a calender, used stamping, collage, ribbon and cat quips from a page of stickers I found at the bottom of the craft box. Was an enjoyable project to do.

    Waterfall album

    Waterfall Album
Pull tab and pages flip over to show photos. Found this neat tutorial at http://www.scrapbook-crazy.com/how-to-make-a-waterfall-scrapbook.html
The album is about 6" by 6" and was easy to make. I think heavier card for the pull tab would make it sturdier. Would hold up to 10 photos.

    Little brag book

    Matchbook Style Mini Album

    Size is about 4" x 2 1/2"
6 pages with DP and cuttlebuged embellishments.
Thinking of making these to sell at a craft market as they are quick to make and look cute. Just need to get a heavy duty stapler that can handle 6 sheets of card.

    Cards

Two Cards I made today. Farmer card is coloured in with water colour pencils. Ink got where it wasn't meant to so improvised, cut of a corner and folded over a piece of card as if it was meant to be like that. Turning a mistake into a positve. Floral card also coloured in water colours. Inspired by a card I saw in SCS
